Harry Shum Jr. was born in Costa Rica to Chinese parents. His family eventually moved to California in pursuit of opportunity for themselves and future generations. Growing up, Harry was shy and bullied in school, but ultimately found a voice through athletics and the arts. He even dreamed of becoming a comic book artist or a football player, a quarterback to be exact. Now, he’s built a career combining all of his passions and created a platform that allows him to champion for youth causes. This journey of self-discovery and craft-mastery has propelled him to break through different barriers, blazing a trail for Asian-Americans in entertainment.
